“The most important thing for us at Taipuva is making sure our customers succeed”
It is difficult to make complex things easy, says Pasi Ahola, the founder of Taipuva. When he’s not speeding down a mountain bike trail or tour skating on frozen lakes, he works hard for more people to discover the art of simplifying things.
It’s a complex environment to work in modern R&D and product development. It requires commitment from Taipuva’s experts to be able to offer the right solutions for managing systems engineering processes. At Taipuva Pasi has created a culture where you as an employee get freedom and you can take your role to what you are interested in. All Taipuva’s people worked remotely every now and then, even before the pandemic, as there is a great deal of trust. Self-direction is a quality that Pasi appreciates.
“In my job I need to constantly change focus, everything from quick things to long-term decisions. What we are doing for our customers is so challenging that it requires a great deal of mental effort. Therefore, I enjoy being able to get out into the nature from my doorstep and do different physical activities. It gives a great contrast to what I do at work and helps me to get fresh ideas.”
How it all started?
“Petri (the co-founder of Taipuva) and I had worked at the same company. We realized that we could build a company together, using the expertise we had. To fit everything together in product and software development, it needs different process areas, teams and information seamlessly connected – on a digital platform. There was no one else who could offer a very comprehensive and unified solution with the needed ability to make the most out of it. We saw that we could offer the service combined to offering a world-leading digital platform, Polarion ALM. Even more, it was possible to speed things up for customers with ready-made industry solutions. Instead of making them complex, we chose to favour simplicity. The benefit is to take solutions extremely fast into use and to be able to adapt them”, Pasi tells.
Taipuva is about expertise and understanding areas such as product development and project management – for making processes more efficient and predictable. Taipuva’s strength is that all employees are resolute experts, ready to dive into customer’s challenges for improving the ways of working. Since 2011 Taipuva has grown from two persons to 15. Taipuva helps global customers
Pasi spends most of his time developing the company and taking care of employees and customers. Relationships are important to him as a key ingredient for success. Taipuva is geographically in Finland and Sweden but helps global customers all around the world. The furthest known place where customers’ products are is on Mars. Such companies need a structured way of working in their complex product development.
“We do everything we can on our part to make our customers successful. Our goal is to be a long-term partner they can truly trust for systems engineering process knowhow. Long-term customer relationships
What permeates the organization is the view of the customer: at Taipuva everyone puts the customer at the center and takes a great responsibility for the relationships. Positive feedback from customers is not rare, actually – and it is always an immense joy and shared with the whole team.
“The most important thing for us is our long-term customer relationships and seeing that our customers succeed. It’s an essential part of our culture. We are proud that our very first customers are still with us today. Seeing what they have achieved, and having a contribution to that makes me happy that we’ve made a significant impact”, Pasi says.
