Digital Islands = Communication Challenges
This picture is what we normally meet:
We can help unify and connect
You do not have to do everything in Polarion, although it is capable of many things! It is also useful to plan phasing to start using it – e.g. Requirements Management first, then Test Management, etc.
Taipuva have developed a Roll-Out plan starting with what we call a ”standard” Polarion implementation including: Requirement Management, Test Management, Risk Management & Change Management. The start for compliance with ASPICE. Spanning over 3-6 months depending on use case and number of users.
Taipuva recommend a stepwise approach implementing solutions in steps to reach the goal of full compliance to regulations/standards such as ISO21434 and ISO26262.
Polarion Template Coverage: More than ISO26262
Taipuva have many templates for different industry standards. A library built up since 2011 as well as all templates available by Siemens. All industries have different standards, regulations and wordings, but it is the same processes, procedures and methods you need to use. Structured Systems Engineering methods (such as MBSE) and best practices in powerful tools.
ASPICE and ISO26262
The Automotive industry are mainly focusing on two standards to assure safety and product quality. ASPICE and ISO26262. For critical automotive systems it´s recommended to comply with both ASPICE and ISO26262, and it´s becoming a prerequisite for starting business cooperation with leading OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers playing a key role in contract negotiations. Why do we need both?
The key difference is their purpose, application, scope and focus.
ISO 26262 is the international standard for the functional safety of electrical and electronic systems in road vehicles. ASPICE, defines best practices and processes for automotive software development, not necessarily related to functional safety.

ASPICE concerns process implementation in the organisation, project or system level, but ISO26262 applies only on system level. The goal with ISO26262 is to cover all functional safety aspects of the development process. ASPICE is used to evaluate if the supplier meets the required level of quality, certain safety and performance standards.

The focus of ISO2626 is to identify and manage random and systematic errors in electrical and electronic systems. The focus of ASPICE is continuous improvements in implemented processes to improve the capability of the supplier.
Taipuva have built solutions for many customers with compliance to ASPICE and ISO26262, tailored to improve every customers processes, needs and workflow.
Concept for continuous development of modular products
Ola Larses, Lead Consultant at Taipuva spoke during Nordic Polarion Days about the concept for continuous development of modular products with compliance to the ISO26262 standard (Road Vechicles – Functional Safety), and the information structure for the Requirement management system that is needed for the formal compliance to the ISO26262 standard.
